IZ

Probably one of the greatest "feel good" songs ever written is "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," by IZ. This song just wipes all the stress away that the day brings with it. Absolutely nobody can be angry or in a bad mood when this song is playing. It is just IZ and his ukelele and that simple combination makes the song incredible. It touches the soul so well that everybody has to appreciate how incredible this song is. It is possibly my favorite song simply because it always puts me in a good mood and it just reassures me that this day is going to be great and nothing can spoil it. When listening to this song there is not one bone in my body that doesn't feel the rhythm of IZ's ukelele. This song is the definition of "Feel the Music."

Adelitas Way

Adelitas Way is a heavy rock band that most of their songs are about a rising up type of feel. Their songs are mostly about if something isn't quit going the way that you think is best then stand up for your cause and don't get pushed around. This band is definitely on the heavier side of rock but not quite considered to be in the metal genre. The people who would probably most enjoy this band the most are the people who want songs that they can really bang their heads to which is exactly what Adelitas Way is. The electric guitar and drums stand out in all of their songs which make them perfect for people who just want to feel the music that they are listening to.

Grapevine Fires

Since I haven't really done a post about a slow or mellow song, I feel that it is about time that I change that. "Grapevine Fires," by Death Cab for Cutie is a brilliant song that I feel almost anyone can appreciate the musical talent behind it. Instead of an electric guitar taking the lead, it is mostly split between the piano and the drums that complement each other perfectly. The lyrics to this song make it extremely depressing and pulls on the heart strings and you can't help but feel a sad sensation scatter throughout your body. This song is musical talent at it's finest.

Common Market

Another group of small town rappers who are similar to the Knowmads is Common Market. They create the same type of enjoyable and mainly lyrical music. My personal favorite song from Common Market is "Escaping Arkham." It is not as popular as their more commonly known songs like "Tobacco Road," and "Trouble is," but for some reason I have just been able to connect with "Escaping Arkham," better then their other songs. One thing that I really enjoy about Common Market is that they put more of their attention into their lyrics which then makes it more like listening to my kind of poetry and it takes my mind to a new place.

Ground Up

A great song that I have recently discovered and can't get enough of is Buried Alive by Ground Up. I immediately became hooked on their beat. There is nothing particularly special about them that would make them stand out from the rest of rappers out there. They didn't change anything drastically but maybe that is a good thing. The music that they make is phenomenal but could be similar to other small town rappers. They were able to capture my attention and I immediately became a huge fan of them. I am sure that once you hear them then you will experience the same thing that I have and become a fan just like me.

Macklemore

Macklemore was a small town rapper of Seattle who has grown in popularity amongst high school students mostly. Most of his songs are inspirational or just about good times rather then being negative or having sad songs. Just listening to one of his songs can change your day around from being a horrible day to realizing all of the good things that have happened. His fresh new style is also very entertaining to listen to while his musical genius fills your head and vibrates your brain. Each of his songs are different and clearly demonstrate his musical talent that he has.

The Slash

If your the type of person that loves great guitar solos, then you might have different preferences then mine, however, personally I believe that the absolute best guitar solos are played by the Slash of Guns and Roses. He is a major part in the band and without him I believe that Guns and Roses wouldn't have reached the same popularity as they did. Instinctively when you think of Guns and Roses you also think of the Slash. He is the ultimate rock n' roll guitarist and is in a league by himself. his unmistakable hairstyle is also in a league by its own.
